Experience Gentle Care at EDentist Bentleigh East
Getting a wisdom tooth removed can be a scary experience for most. The discomfort, the anxiety, and the fear of pain are common concerns we hear from our patients. Whether you’re a parent worried about your teen’s dental health or someone who is dealing with the pain and disruption caused by wisdom teeth, we’re here to help.
Suffering from pain at the back of your mouth, struggling to chew, or speak without discomfort can disrupt your daily life. Wisdom teeth often grow crooked, become impacted, or push other teeth out of alignment, leading to more serious dental problems if not addressed promptly.
We understand these fears and are here to reassure you. At EDentist Bentleigh East, our compassionate team specialises in making this necessary procedure as painless and stress-free as possible. We combine years of expertise with a gentle approach to ensure your comfort throughout the process.

Went there for an emergency wisdom teeth extraction for my husband. Dr Laith Mahub operated a smooth and efficient procedure with great attitude. He showed not only professionalism but also a wonderful personality. Would highly recommend it to anyone who needs to take care of your teeth.

Free Consultation:
We start by ordering x-rays to identify the orientation of the wisdom teeth that have partially grown out or are trapped beneath the gum.
Anaesthesia:
On the day of the procedure, we’ll numb the area around your wisdom teeth with a local anaesthetic. This ensures you feel minimal discomfort during the extraction.
Extraction
For impacted wisdom teeth, we may need to make a small incision in the gum and remove some bone to access the tooth. Using gentle techniques, we will carefully loosen and remove the tooth.
Stitches:
If an incision was made, we will place a few stitches to help the area heal. These stitches are usually dissolvable and will disappear on their own.
Aftercare Instructions:
After the extraction, we will give you clear instructions on how to care for your mouth as it heals. This includes tips on managing any pain, reducing swelling, and what foods to avoid.
Follow-Up:
We’re here for you even after you leave the clinic. If you have any questions or concerns during your recovery, you can always reach out to us for advice and support.
Went here for an emergency wisdom tooth extraction. They were very quick to get the operation done, very clear on management of the condition at home, very attentive to me both during and following the procedure, and very friendly as well. You are definitely going to be in good hands if you book here.

Can’t recommend this clinic high enough! Have encouraged all of my friends and family to go and see Dr Laith. Had to go in for a wisdom tooth extraction and he was so thorough, comforting and made me feel so calm. (I even got to watch Friends on the Tv throughout the procedure). Aftercare is something I have never had from a dentist until now, especially free of charge. I am so happy to finally have a dentist I know I can trust and come back to for any and all concerns. So appreciate his kindness and service (as well as the whole team).

The typical tooth extraction process typically takes anywhere between 20 to 40 minutes. In some cases, it can take longer than an hour.
Generally speaking, we perform tooth extractions using a topical local anesthetic. If you are uncomfortable with topical anesthesia, we can discuss options for sedation and general anesthesia.
As the incision site heals, you will need to avoid alcohol, tobacco, and tough foods to prevent infection. You should also avoid brushing directly over the incision and should instead use mouthwash a few times a day. Avoid sodas and spicy foods, as these can irritate the incision site.
Like any dental procedure, tooth extraction carries some risks. If you do not take care of the incision site, you may develop painful dry sockets. Removing a tooth can also affect your jaw and bite alignment. In some cases, the dentist may place a dental implant to retain full mouth and jaw functionality.
